Learning to write like Roald Dahl

We have been using this passage from Matilda to learn to write like Dahl. We used a dictionary to understand what he was saying, then a thesaurus to find strings of synonyms that we could use to insult children if we were Miss Trunchbull. 

 

“This clot,” boomed the Headmistress, pointing the riding-crop at him like a rapier, “this black-head, this foul carbuncle, this poisonous pustule that you see before you is none other than a disgusting criminal, a denizen of the underworld, a member of the Mafia!
